Shimla, Feb 26 (NationPress) In response to the reported detention of Delhi Police officials following the arrest of three Youth Congress activists who engaged in a shirtless protest at the AI summit, the Himachal Pradesh Police issued a statement on Thursday. They indicated that they had received information about an incident where individuals, dressed in civilian clothing and using vehicles with out-of-state registration, allegedly forcefully removed three individuals from a resort in Chirgaon.

In a coordinated effort with the Solan Police, teams from Shimla intercepted the involved individuals at various locations, including Shoghi, ISBT in Shimla, and Dharampur.
Upon investigation, it surfaced that the group included police personnel from both Delhi and Haryana who had pursued and taken custody of the three individuals concerning a case registered in Delhi.
To guarantee full legal adherence and protect the rights of all parties involved, the Shimla Police presented the individuals before the appropriate local court for necessary directives.
The three individuals were also subjected to a medical examination at Ripon Hospital in Shimla as per standard legal procedures.
Following this, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Shimla granted a transit remand of approximately 18 hours.
Having completed all required formalities and due diligence, the Delhi and Haryana Police team was authorized to proceed to Delhi with the individuals in question.
Additionally, based on a complaint lodged by the owner of Chanshul Resort in Chirgaon, a first information report (FIR) was registered on February 25 under relevant legal provisions at the Police Station in Chirgaon, and an investigation is currently ongoing, as stated by the Himachal Police.
Congress lawmaker Kuldeep Rathore has called for strict action from the state government against the Delhi Police, labeling their approach towards the Youth Congress leaders an attempt to silence dissent.
