Home Minister Amit Shah Engages with Sadhguru

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a significant meeting with Jaggi Vasudev, widely recognized as Sadhguru, the founder of the Isha Foundation based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Sharing his experience on the microblogging platform X, the Home Minister expressed, “I was delighted to meet Shri @SadhguruJV Ji. We discussed Indian spirituality and its impact on societal transformation.”

In response to the Home Minister's post, Sadhguru remarked, “It was a pleasure meeting the Hon'ble Home Minister of Bharat. His dedication to the civilizational aspects of our nation is truly commendable.”

Sadhguru, an advocate for environmental protection against climate change, spearheads numerous initiatives such as Project GreenHands (PGH), Rally for Rivers, Cauvery Calling, and the Journey to Save Soil. In 2017, he was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor, in recognition of his contributions to spirituality and humanitarian efforts.

In 2022, Sadhguru undertook a remarkable 100-day motorcycle journey from London to India, aimed at raising awareness for his ‘Journey to Save Soil’ campaign, which addresses the critical issues of soil degradation and promotes the advantages of organic farming practices.

Earlier that day, Home Minister Amit Shah also had the opportunity to meet Hindu spiritual guru, writer, and philosopher Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj.

“I had a detailed discussion with Junapithadheeswar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj on various topics concerning spirituality and national interests. Your efforts in propagating Indian philosophical traditions globally are indeed praiseworthy,” the Home Minister stated in a post on X.

Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj serves as the current Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Juna Akhara, the largest Akhara for Naga Sadhus in India.
