Sources indicate that a group of 10 I-T officers targeted the residence and properties of a contractor based in Mysuru.

The officers arrived in three vehicles and executed their searches. Their operations were aimed at finding documents and property records.

The I-T officials focused on the contractor’s residence in Ramakrishnanagar, alongside 'M Pro Palace' Hotel and a choultry located at Deve Gowda Circle in Mysuru. The searches persisted for three hours. Officers also confiscated documents from vehicles and are currently in the process of verification.

This contractor has secured several government project bids and possesses a brick factory along with other enterprises.

Information regarding the raids in Bengaluru and surrounding areas remains undisclosed, with an official announcement from the department pending.

Previously, on October 12, 2024, the Income Tax Department executed simultaneous raids at 50 locations across Bengaluru. These raids focused on the residences and offices of jewellers.

The searches took place in affluent neighborhoods like Malleshwaram, Sadashivanagar, Dollars Colony, Mattikere, Sarjapur Road, RMV Extension, and others in Bengaluru. The raids on jewellers were linked to allegations of tax evasion in the city.

On September 27, 2024, I-T officials also raided over 10 corporate entities in Bengaluru.

According to sources, these operations were initiated due to claims of tax evasion and the submission of false reports to the Income Tax Department. The coordinated actions took place in C.V. Raman Nagar, Bagmane Tech Park, Hulimavu, and other locations.

Moreover, officials launched a raid on an apartment following intelligence about dubious tax evasion strategies.

Reportedly, officials gathered evidence indicating that businesses were maintaining dual financial records to evade taxes.
