Thiruvananthapuram, April 4 (NationPress) The Kerala Police are actively searching for the fugitive male colleague of a woman IB official who tragically took her own life by leaping in front of a train 12 days ago. On Friday, new developments saw rape charges formally added against him.
This update follows vital testimony provided by the father of the 24-year-old woman IB official against Sukanth Suresh, who is currently employed at Cochin International Airport and was in a relationship with the deceased.
Suresh has been evading authorities since March 24, the day the woman official ended her life after finishing her night duty at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
After her parents disclosed their daughter’s closeness with a colleague, Suresh’s name was revealed, along with findings that she regularly transferred her salary to him.
Shortly after her body was discovered and the police investigation commenced, it was revealed that she was in contact with Suresh just moments before she committed the act.
Medical records have also surfaced, indicating that the young woman had undergone an abortion the previous year, with this information being supplied to the police by her father.
This latest development in the investigation occurred just a day after Suresh submitted a plea for anticipatory bail in the Kerala High Court.
Despite efforts by the Kerala Police to track Suresh down, all attempts have been unsuccessful as his residence in Malappuram district was found secured, and his parents are also reportedly untraceable.
The pair had grown closer after participating in an in-service training program in Rajasthan last year. While her mother was aware of their relationship, her father discovered it only later.
He recounted an incident where he received a toll payment alert from Kochi, prompting him to inquire with his daughter about her whereabouts, eventually leading to the revelation of their relationship.
The family has provided the woman’s laptop to the police to assist with the investigation, while her damaged mobile device was retrieved from the vicinity of the railway track where her remains were found.
