Thiruvananthapuram, March 25 (NationPress) - The family of a deceased woman Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, whose remains were discovered near a railway track in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, is alleging foul play. Meanwhile, police have developed leads suggesting that a failed love affair may have contributed to her tragic demise.

On Tuesday, her family approached law enforcement, urging a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case. Local police are currently looking into the unnatural death of 24-year-old Megha, who was stationed at the Immigration wing of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. The IB is also expected to conduct a thorough inquiry.

Megha had been employed at the international airport for the past year. Following her family’s concerns, both police and IB officials have heightened their investigative efforts.

Authorities have initiated a review of her mobile phone records, focusing specifically on the last number dialed.

Sources indicate that identifying the individual she last contacted might yield significant insights into the case.

It has come to light that Megha had a friend in the same department located in Kochi, with whom she had discussed marriage plans.

Initially, her parents were against this relationship, but eventually consented. Unfortunately, by that time, the man had withdrawn from the engagement, which might have led to her tragic decision.

On Tuesday, her father corroborated that Megha had a friendship that began during an in-service training program.

Earlier, Megha’s uncle, Sivadasan, expressed suspicion regarding foul play, stating she had no prior history of depression, countering media reports suggesting suicide.

“We have no reason to believe that she was struggling with depression. We have lodged a complaint with the local police requesting a thorough investigation and have also contacted IB officials for an extensive probe,” he stated.

After finishing her night shift, Megha departed from the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport early Monday morning. Her body was later discovered near the railway tracks. An identification card found on her confirmed her identity.

On Monday, following the incident, the driver of the Pune-Kanyakumari train notified the police that even after sounding the horn, a woman did not flee from the tracks and instead jumped in front of the oncoming train.

Megha’s remains were transported to her family home in Pathanamthitta on Monday night. She was the sole child of her parents.

The last rites were performed on Tuesday at her residence in Pathanamthitta.
