Thiruvananthapuram, March 25 (NationPress) The family of the woman Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, whose remains were discovered near a railway track, has expressed suspicions of foul play and has lodged a police complaint.

The deceased, identified as Megha, was found lifeless on Monday morning.

Sivadasan, the uncle of 24-year-old Megha, stated that they suspect foul play in her death.

He emphasized that she did not suffer from depression, as some media outlets have suggested as a possible cause for her alleged suicide.

“We do not have any reason to believe that she was undergoing depression. We have now registered a complaint with the local police station to conduct a proper probe. We also have written to the IB officials to ensure there is a proper investigation,” said Sivadasan.

The family is demanding a comprehensive investigation into the case.

On Monday, following the incident, the train conductor of the Pune-Kanyakumari service notified the police that, despite sounding the horn, a woman did not move away from the tracks and instead leaped in front of the oncoming train.

Megha had finished her night shift and left the premises of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport early Monday morning. Later, her body was located near the railway tracks.

Megha's remains were brought back to her home in Pathanamthitta on Monday night. She was the sole child of her parents.

The last rites are scheduled for later on Tuesday. Megha had been employed at the international airport for the past year, and with her family raising suspicions, both the police and IB officials have intensified their investigation.

The police have begun examining her mobile phone call records.

The last number dialed is currently under investigation. Sources indicate that the police hope to gain important leads once they identify the individual she last communicated with.

The identification card belonging to Megha, discovered on her body, facilitated her quick identification.
