IGIMS Student Discovered Deceased at His Patna Residence

Patna, Dec 25 (NationPress) A second-year postgraduate student at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Science (IGIMS) was discovered hanging at his residence in Shivaji Nagar under the jurisdiction of Digha police station in Patna on Tuesday.

The deceased, Dr Aryan Kumar, aged 29, hailed from Saharsa district and possessed a house in Shivaji Nagar. At the moment of the incident, Dr Aryan was alone, as his parents were in their village in Saharsa.

This incident triggered significant alarm in the community, leading to prompt action from local law enforcement. After receiving the report, officers from the Digha police station promptly arrived at the location and commenced an investigation. A forensic team was also summoned to analyze the site for potential evidence.

Sources indicate that Dr Aryan usually resided in a rented accommodation in Raja Bazar, Patna, but had returned to his Shivaji Nagar residence on Monday night, where the tragedy unfolded.

His father, a retired bank employee, and his mother, a teacher in Supaul, were absent during the incident. The reasons behind this unfortunate event remain unclear, and the investigation is currently in progress.

The sequence of events began on Tuesday morning when Aryan’s parents and friends attempted to get in touch with him, but received no response.

Worried, Aryan’s father reached out to the tenants, asking them to check on his son. The tenants arrived at Aryan's house, rang the doorbell, and attempted to open the door, but there was no answer. Subsequently, the father informed Aryan's friends, who then arrived and forced the door open after failing to elicit a response through knocking.

Inside, they were met with the shocking sight of Aryan hanging in the kitchen, which left them horrified. The friends immediately contacted his father, who subsequently alerted the police.

According to Dinesh Kumar Pandey, SDPO (Law and Order) Patna, a mobile phone was retrieved from the scene.

“While the preliminary investigation suggests a possible suicide, the specific reasons behind this incident remain indeterminate. The police are thoroughly examining all facets of the case to uncover the truth,” stated Pandey.

The tragic news has plunged Aryan’s family into profound grief, resulting in chaos and sorrow among relatives. The investigation continues to seek clarity on the circumstances surrounding this troubling event.
