Kolkata, March 3 (NationPress) The 60th batch of the prestigious MBA program at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) has achieved a remarkable 100% placement, as reported by the institute's officials on Monday.

With 456 students engaging in the placement process, they successfully secured 538 job offers from 196 companies, even in the face of challenging market conditions. The consulting sector led the way, contributing 201 offers (37.3%) to the total.

Notably, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) stood out as the top recruiter in management consulting, while Accenture Strategy topped the strategy consulting sector.

Other notable consulting firms included McKinsey, Kearney, Alvarez & Marsal, Arthur D Little, Auctus Advisors, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, TCS, KPMG, PwC, and Vector Consulting. In the payments and cards sector, American Express was the leading recruiter, followed closely by Mastercard.

The institute's efforts to attract prominent finance firms have proven successful this year, with 114 offers made in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, markets, and asset and wealth management.

Key players in finance included Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citi, Barclays, UBS, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Avendus, Moelis, Elevation Capital, DE Shaw, Claypond Capital, Standard Chartered, Arga Investment Management, Neo Asset & Wealth Management, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Kotak Alternate Asset, Ambit, Prime Ventures, Edelweiss, Ebullient Securities, o3 Capital, EY IB, and DC Advisory, among others.

This year, several global firms participated as first-time recruiters in the placement initiative, highlighting their confidence in the talent pool within the MBA program.

According to Ritu Mehta, the chairperson of the Placement Committee, the placement outcomes amidst tough market conditions have been outstanding. “Our graduates have received excellent opportunities to launch their careers post-MBA. We extend our sincere gratitude to our recruiters for their trust in our students and our academic framework,” she stated.
