New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) India is establishing itself as the new global manufacturing hub, characterized as a land of boundless innovations, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
During a media conference, the Prime Minister emphasized that the world is closely observing 21st-century India to comprehend how the nation is capable of producing everything from semiconductors to aircraft carriers.
Once recognized merely as a back office, India is now transforming into a manufacturing powerhouse, the PM remarked, asserting that the country is not merely a provider of labor but a global force.
He pointed out that India, which previously relied heavily on imports, is now emerging as a significant export center for a variety of products, including turmeric, coffee, millets, and makhana (fox nuts).
India's mobile phone production, defense products, electronics, and pharmaceuticals are also gaining international acclaim, he noted.
PM Modi remarked that farmers, who once operated within local markets, are now reaching global audiences with their products, citing the increasing demand for Pulwama's snow peas, Maharashtra's Purandar figs, and Kashmir's cricket bats.
India's defense products exemplify the prowess of Indian engineering and technology on a global platform, stated the PM.
“From electronics to the automobile industry, the world has recognized India's vast capabilities and resources,” he mentioned.
“India is not only supplying products globally but is also becoming a trusted partner in the international supply chain,” he added.
PM Modi further articulated that thanks to “years of diligent effort and strategic policy decisions,” India is now spearheading numerous global initiatives.
These include the recent AI Action Summit in France, where India was a co-host and will now undertake the responsibility of hosting it; as well as the successful G-20 summit during its presidency, which introduced the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor as a new economic route.
The PM noted that India has amplified the voice of the Global South while prioritizing the needs of island nations.
Additionally, the nation has launched initiatives to combat the global climate crisis, including the Mission LiFE vision, the International Solar Alliance, and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
“The land that contributed the concept of zero is now evolving into a hub of unlimited innovations,” the Prime Minister stated, emphasizing that India is generating solutions that are affordable, accessible, and adaptable.
This includes a secure and cost-efficient digital payment system through the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and the development of vaccines during the critical Covid-19 pandemic.
He also underscored India's capabilities in sectors such as automobile, space, and emerging technologies like AI.
“India is determined to advance towards becoming a developed nation within the next 25 years,” concluded PM Modi.
