New Delhi, Oct 29 (NationPress) Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s maritime sector is witnessing significant transformation, as noted by Captain Dhananjay Kumar of Bothra Shipping during the India Maritime Week 2025 held in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Captain Kumar commended the Prime Minister’s enduring vision and dedication to maritime advancement, asserting that India is progressively establishing itself as a global maritime hub.

Since 2016, PM Modi has been instrumental in fortifying the maritime industry through extensive reforms and modernization initiatives.

“Over the last decade, India has seen remarkable innovations and growth in its seaports, including Vadavan, Vizhinjam, and Paradip. This development underscores the government’s strategic intent to elevate India as a maritime power,” he informed IANS.

Captain Kumar emphasized that the creation of new ports, coastal trade routes, and enhanced logistics infrastructure has been vital in increasing India’s cargo-handling capabilities.

“Improved rail connectivity to essential industries like steel, fertilizer, and mining has made transport more effective and dependable, thus reinforcing the nation’s trade network,” he further added.

As per him, these initiatives not only attract global interest but also play a significant role in job creation, regional economic upliftment, and India’s integration into the global supply chain.

Speaking about PM Modi’s Vision 2047, Captain Kumar described it as a roadmap for India’s rise as a global leader in maritime trade and shipping through technological progress and sustainable practices.
