This event is designed to foster health and fitness among participants from various backgrounds and is anticipated to draw entrants from across the nation, competing in three race categories: 21.1 km Half Marathon, 10 km Run, and 5 km Run. This makes it an inclusive occasion for runners of different skill levels, according to a statement from the Defence Ministry.

Efforts are ongoing to ensure a memorable experience for all contestants. The event will take place at the renowned Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with the race path passing through India Gate and the historic Kartavya Path, it mentioned.

Prominent figures from the Defence forces and the civil sector are expected to attend. This significant event is intended to promote health and fitness, motivating individuals to engage in physical activity and adopt an active lifestyle for overall wellness.

The event aspires to cultivate a spirit of camaraderie and competition, uniting individuals to strengthen ties with the Indian Navy and each other. It also seeks to inspire the youth to pursue adventurous lives and contemplate careers in the Indian Navy, renowned for courage, discipline, and service to the nation, as stated in the announcement.

Significantly, runners who manage to complete all four Navy marathons in a year will be awarded the esteemed Navy Slam, a unique souvenir featuring engraved designs of medals from all four events.

The inaugural Indian Navy Half Marathon in Delhi was initially set for October 6, but the schedule was later adjusted.

By promoting unity in a spirit of camaraderie and competition, the event also aims to create stronger connections among the residents of the National Capital Region and beyond, as well as encouraging the youth to embrace an adventurous path by joining the Indian Navy.
