Raichur, Feb 20 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Pralhad Joshi stated on Friday that with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is undergoing a significant change and is experiencing a revival of its religious and cultural essence.
He made these remarks during the inauguration and Brahmakalashotsava ceremony of the newly built Sri Veeranagamma Devi Temple in Gejjalagatta, located in Lingsugur taluk of the Raichur district.
Joshi emphasized that India is a nation deeply rooted in a vibrant cultural legacy and serves as a meeting point for diverse traditions.
He highlighted that the principles of knowledge, science, faith, and customs are intricately woven into the fabric of Indian society, resulting in global recognition of India’s magnificence.
“You are free to worship any deity you prefer. However, life should be lived with justice, morality, peace, and righteousness—this is the essence of our Sanatana Dharma,” he remarked, adding that beyond rituals lies a more profound principle known as “Human Dharma.”
He noted that historically, the notion of untouchability was non-existent; however, it emerged over time, and he firmly stated that accepting untouchability is out of the question.
He called upon religious leaders and spiritual heads to join forces in eliminating untouchability and fostering unity within society and the nation.
“Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, initiatives for religious, cultural, and spiritual revitalization are being implemented across the nation,” he added, mentioning efforts to instill cultural and spiritual values in the youth.
The Union Minister also announced the launch of a spiritual tourism initiative called the “Ramayana Circuit,” aimed at familiarizing people with significant religious sites and the rich legacy of Lord Rama.
This initiative includes tours to 15 key religious and spiritual locations linked to Lord Rama. Railway travel has been arranged for these spiritual excursions to essential sites such as Ayodhya, Hampi, Chitrakoot, Nashik, and Nagpur, he noted.
Quoting a verse, the Minister remarked, “Life becomes stagnant like water when Veeranagamma Devi is forgotten; it flows like a river and roars like the ocean when remembered.”
He expressed his joy over the local BJP MLA Manappa Vajjal constructing and inaugurating the new temple, wishing that the goddess bless him in his charitable and pro-poor endeavors.
The consecration ceremony (Prana Pratishta) of Sri Veeranagamma Devi was performed under the guidance of K.N. Narasimha Adiga, chief priest of Kollur Mookambika Temple. Jagadguru Immadi Siddarameshwara Mahaswamiji, pontiff of the Bhovi Gurupeetha of Chitradurga and Bagalkote, also attended the event.
