Expressing his appreciation, former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai conveyed his thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

Bommai stated, "I extend my gratitude to Prime Minister Modi ji and Minister of Culture Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat ji for sanctioning the development project of Shri Renuka Yallamma Temple under the PRASHAD scheme. This project aims to improve the pilgrimage experience and offer modern facilities to countless devotees."

Minister Shekhawat took to the social media platform X to announce, "Today, our Ministry of Tourism has greenlit the development project for Sri Renuka Yallamma Temple in Saundatti, Belagavi, Karnataka as part of the PRASHAD initiative."

"With an investment of Rs 18.37 crore, the temple will be upgraded with modern facilities such as a pilgrim arrival center, cafeteria, first aid center, and more, greatly benefiting the multitude of devotees visiting the temple," stated Union Minister Shekhawat.

The Yallamma Temple is an ancient and stunning shrine dedicated to the Goddess Renuka, also referred to as Yallamma. It is located approximately 70 kilometers from the city of Belagavi in northern Karnataka, positioned on a hill formerly known as Siddhachal Parvat and now called Yallammanna Gudda, named after the temple.

The temple showcases Chalukyan and Rashtrakuta architecture, with intricate carvings reflecting Jain artistry. It was established in 1514 by Bomappa Naik from Raybag.

Within the temple grounds, there are shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Mallikarjun, Parshuram, Eknath, Siddeshwar, and others.

Countless devotees from Maharashtra, Goa, and Andhra Pradesh, in addition to numerous people from Karnataka, visit the temple, especially during the biannual Jatras.

The management of the temple was transferred to the Government in 1975, which has since established facilities such as dharmashalas, health centers, and other amenities for pilgrims.

With the implementation of this new scheme, devotees can anticipate enhanced facilities and comforts at the site.
