Chandigarh, Jan 16 (NationPress) The second edition of the two-day 'Haryana Youth Dialogue' commenced on Friday at the Haryana Legislative Assembly, featuring 65 participants from 13 states.

Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan inaugurated the event, organized in collaboration with the Rajdhani Yuva Sansad Sansthan, by lighting a lamp.

While addressing the gathering, Speaker Kalyan remarked, "India has faced a prolonged and challenging era of colonialism, during which efforts were made to diminish our rich culture and values. Nevertheless, India stands today as the world's largest democracy, progressing continuously. This reflects the resilience of our Constitution and the unity among our citizens."

He added, "The Constitution teaches us that India's genuine strength resides in its people. We must unite to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047."

The Speaker emphasized that India is a country of diversity. Although various languages, traditions, and cultures exist, they collectively aim for the advancement of the nation and state. While the languages in different state legislatures may vary, the shared objective among all public representatives is to implement effective and welfare programs for every segment of society.

Addressing the youth, he stated that their presence in the same Vidhan Sabha building, where many distinguished MLAs and leaders have contributed significantly to lawmaking and Haryana's overall development, is crucial.

He expressed hope that these young individuals would promote democratic traditions when they have opportunities to become public representatives in the future, engaging in meaningful discussions within the House.

"Diversity of ideas is inherent in a democracy, but the youth should strive for solutions with positive thinking so that society and the nation can receive a new direction," he said.

Furthermore, he insisted that for the country to progress, empowering women socially, politically, and economically is vital and mentioned the passing of a historic Bill granting 33 percent reservation for women.

Reflecting on his experience at the Commonwealth Parliament in New Delhi, he noted that speakers from various countries were astonished by India's strong advancement, despite its numerous languages, customs, and cultural diversities.

During the program, legislator Pooja Chaudhary, Advisor to Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Ram Narayan Yadav, Co-Founder of Haryana Yuva Samvad Jai Saini, and Isha Kapoor shared their thoughts on the freedom movement, experiences from the constituent assembly, democratic values, leadership skills, and the role of youth.

The second phase of the program included a question hour, followed by two special sessions. The first session focused on 'Sustainable Development of Haryana: Industrial Expansion, Environmental Protection, and Balanced Use of Natural Resources', while the second discussed the need for industrial growth, challenges, and the Haryana Industrial Policy 2025 to achieve Vision 2030.
