Chandigarh, March 5 (NationPress) The Haryana Assembly achieved a remarkable milestone on Thursday, as all 20 questions scheduled for Question Hour were addressed in a swift 55 minutes, finishing five minutes ahead of the allocated one-hour period.
Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan expressed his delight over this achievement, noting that every member who posed a question received a comprehensive response.
He stated, "In alignment with the ongoing discourse on Antyodaya nationwide, the Haryana Legislative Assembly has also set a benchmark today. Although the answers to the final question were not officially presented, they facilitated substantial discussion. Everyone was given a chance to voice their thoughts, showcasing a distinctive example of participatory governance."
Speaker Kalyan expressed his satisfaction that all questions from Assembly members formed part of the official proceedings.
He also thanked all Assembly members and Ministers for their contributions during the discussions, emphasizing the value of concise presentations.
In response to an inquiry, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini revealed that the state government has decided that any necessary expansion of ongoing projects will be handled through a new tender process.
"This strategy aims to effectively manage issues related to cost increases and budget overruns," the Chief Minister informed the Assembly.
He further explained, "It has been observed that project scopes often expand during execution. Such mid-project adjustments lead to complications, increasing costs and complicating enhancements."
To remedy these challenges, the state government has mandated that any additional work on projects that have already been tendered will proceed through a separate tender process.
Chief Minister Saini added that appropriate instructions have already been communicated to the relevant departmental officers.
In response to another question, Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam shared that a proposal to enhance and develop basic infrastructure at the Haryana Sports University in Sonipat is currently under evaluation.
Additionally, State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana announced plans to pave five-karam-wide unpaved paths connecting various villages in the Narnaund Assembly constituency to enhance rural connectivity.
