Bhopal, May 28 (NationPress) The search efforts for Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi, residents of Indore, who have mysteriously vanished during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, have intensified.

Indore MP Shankar Lalwani traveled to Shillong on Wednesday to confer with senior police officials, including Idashisha Nongrang, the Director General of Police.

Family members of the Raghuvanshis joined him in their search for answers and support. Reports suggest the couple's family has declared a reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone who can provide credible information about their location.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has reached out to Conrad Sangma, his counterpart in Meghalaya, to deliberate on the case, prompting Lalwani's visit.

In a statement on his X handle, Lalwani underlined that the safety of Indore's residents is his utmost concern.

He reassured that every possible measure is being utilized to find the couple.

During his dialogue with DGP Nongrang, Lalwani shared that local tribal inhabitants are being interviewed, yet no substantial leads have surfaced.

He noted that the couple's scooter, their belongings, and the site of their last breakfast are scattered across various locations, implying that connecting these dots could aid in resolving the mystery.

He speculated that something untoward may have occurred while they were returning.

Lalwani also posted photographs from his meeting with DGP Nongrang.

The couple has been unaccounted for over six days. Local authorities conducted thorough search operations until late Tuesday night, during which two of their bags were found in a ditch amidst dense bushes. Searches resumed on Wednesday but were interrupted by heavy rainfall.

Raging waters from the mountains have rendered the terrain hazardous, forcing one search team to stay behind, while another was halted three kilometers away.

Authorities have dismissed the likelihood of an accident and are now concentrating on a criminal probe, according to reports.

The police are pursuing various leads, and a breakthrough is anticipated soon.

The disappearance of Raja and Sonam has generated significant anxiety among their family and the broader community.

Since learning of the distressing situation, Lalwani has maintained constant communication with Meghalaya's administration, urging prompt and decisive action.

The state government has pledged full cooperation in the search efforts.

Worried about their sudden disappearance, Sonam's brother Govind searched online and managed to trace the individual who had rented them the bike. The case has since reached the highest echelons of government.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's direct involvement has expedited the search operation.

A contingency of over fifty personnel, including villagers and members of the Village Defense Party, has been deployed to scour the challenging terrain.

Reports from East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem indicate that the couple's last known mobile location was pinpointed to Mawlakhiat village.

On Wednesday, additional personnel were deployed to amplify the search.

Investigations have disclosed that the couple visited the renowned Living Roots Bridge in Nongriat village with a guide and spent the night there before heading towards Mawlakhiat.
