Hyderabad, Jan 23 (NationPress) The prominent IT company Infosys Limited is set to broaden its operations in Hyderabad, leading to the creation of 17,000 jobs. This announcement was revealed during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, following discussions between Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka and the Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Thursday.
The state government and Infosys have committed to reinforcing their strategic collaboration through the expansion of Infosys' IT campus located in Pocharam.
This expansion initiative will result in the addition of 17,000 jobs at the Pocharam Campus, where Infosys currently employs over 35,000 individuals, making it one of their largest facilities in the country, as stated by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
The first phase of construction for new IT buildings, involving an investment of Rs 750 crores, is expected to be completed within the next 2-3 years and will have the capacity to accommodate 10,000 people.
These new establishments will play a crucial role in bolstering the state's vibrant IT ecosystem and will further enhance Telangana's reputation as a premier IT hub in the nation, according to the CMO.
“Our collaboration with the Government of Telangana reflects our mutual goal of fostering innovation, empowering communities, and enhancing the IT landscape,” stated Jayesh Sanghrajka.

Previously, Wipro also announced its expansion plans at its campus in Gopanapalli, within the Financial District, with a new IT center aiming to generate 5,000 new jobs. This announcement followed a meeting between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT Minister Babu with Wipro Executive Chairman Rishad Premji in Davos.
As per the CMO, the new IT center is slated for completion in 2-3 years. This expansion is likely to further enhance the IT ecosystem in Hyderabad.

Sridhar Babu shared on the social media platform 'X' that he and Rishad Premji discussed plans for establishing innovation centers aimed at driving advancements in AI, IoT, and cybersecurity, in alignment with the state government’s vision for a more advanced tech-driven future. “Wipro’s dedication to empowering youth through skill development is in perfect harmony with Telangana’s goal to nurture global talent.
