Intoxicated Individual Climbs Electric Pole and Lays on Wires in Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, Jan 1 (NationPress) In an unusual occurrence in the Parvathipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh, a drunken young man decided to climb an electric pole and lay down on the wires.
Fortunately, a major disaster was averted when vigilant villagers promptly turned off the transformer.
This incident took place in M. Singipuram village, located in Palakonda Mandal, on Tuesday. A video capturing the youth's antics quickly spread across social media.
The young man undertook this reckless act after his mother denied him access to her social security pension funds.
His behavior caused a flurry of concern among the residents. After cutting off the power, they urged him to descend. The locals endured a tense wait while the youth remained precariously positioned on the wires. He eventually got down, bringing relief to everyone around.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, police arrived at the scene and filed a case against the young man.
In another related instance, a court in Telangana mandated that eight individuals caught driving under the influence of alcohol perform sanitation duties at a government hospital.
A Mancherial court issued this unconventional ruling in a case involving drunken driving initiated by Naspur Police. The police had apprehended eight individuals for operating their vehicles while intoxicated during a crackdown on drunk driving.
The District First Class Judicial Magistrate, D. Upanishadwani, opted not to imprison or fine the offenders. Instead, the court assigned them the task of serving as sanitation workers, instructing them to collect trash and clean up the Primary Health Centre.
Simultaneously, intoxicated individuals engaged in disputes with police officers conducting sobriety tests at various locations during the night of December 31 and January 1.
Such incidents were reported in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates. The police executed a special operation aimed at reducing traffic violations during New Year festivities. This operation focused on monitoring drunk driving, reckless driving, speeding, driving against traffic, riding without helmets, and excessive passengers on two-wheelers.
