Ashoknagar (Madhya Pradesh), July 9 (NationPress) - Digvijaya Singh, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and a prominent leader of the Congress party, stated on Wednesday that Gajraj Lodhi, who accused State Congress President Jitu Patwari of offering money to produce a fraudulent video, has not been seen at his residence for the past ten days.
In a video message, Singh mentioned that he visited Gajraj Lodhi's house in Mundara village, located under the Mungaoli police station in the Ashoknagar district, on Tuesday evening.
Singh remarked that Lodhi's home was locked from the outside, and notably, one of his cows was found dead at the location.
He expressed concern that no one had come to remove the deceased cow due to fear of police repercussions, stating, "Gajraj's neighbors reported that his family has been missing for ten days after an FIR was lodged against Jitu Patwari. Locals also mentioned that the police have threatened them, warning them not to approach Gajraj's home, or they would face dire consequences."
Following this, Digvijaya Singh, accompanied by his son and Raghogarh MLA, Jaivardhan Singh, visited the Mungaoli police station late Tuesday to file a missing person report for Gajraj Lodhi and his family.
In the written complaint submitted at the Mungaoli police station, which is available with IANS, Singh stated, "I went to meet Gajraj Lodhi at his residence in Mundara village, but neither he nor any family members were present. The villagers claimed that the family had disappeared after an FIR was filed against Jitu Patwari."
On June 27, a man identifying himself as Raghuraj Lodhi released a viral video claiming he was assaulted by the village sarpanch and his son.
Raghuraj also alleged that the sarpanch forced him to consume human waste.
Patwari shared the video on his social media on June 28, calling for action.
However, the very next day, Gajraj Lodhi uploaded a video asserting that Jitu Patwari had offered him money to create a "fake" video.
As a result of Gajraj's statement, an FIR against Patwari was registered by the Mungaoli police on June 29.
Patwari was charged under various sections, including 61(2) for criminal conspiracy, 196(1)(a) for promoting enmity, 197(1)(c) for actions causing disharmony and hatred, 229(2) for fabricating false evidence, 237 for false declarations, and 353(1)(c) for mischief under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
In response to the FIR against Patwari, Congress organized a significant protest in Ashoknagar on Tuesday.
After the protest, Patwari stated that police officials assured him that the case against him would be dismissed following an investigation.
