New Delhi, Nov 4 (NationPress) Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on Tuesday to engage in discussions aimed at addressing shared challenges, particularly the common threat of terrorism.
After their meeting, Sa'ar posted on X, stating, "It was a privilege to meet India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, in New Delhi. We explored avenues for collaboration to tackle our shared challenges, especially the mutual threat of terror. We're forging a long-term strategic partnership between Israel and India!"
Earlier, Sa'ar also met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, focusing their discussions on enhancing the Strategic Partnership across various domains, along with regional developments, including the Gaza Peace Plan.
During the talks, Gideon Sa'ar noted that he and EAM Jaishankar delved into the bilateral relationship and the common threat posed by terrorism, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome he received in New Delhi.
"I appreciate the hospitality extended by my friend, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, in New Delhi. Our discussions on bilateral relations and the mutual threat of terror were quite productive. I emphasized that dismantling the Hamas terror state is central to the Trump Plan, and we will not waver on this," Sa'ar shared on X.
Sa'ar highlighted Israel's status as a regional power and a thriving democracy, while also recognizing India as a global superpower and the world's largest democracy with the fastest-growing economy. "Our objective is to cultivate a long-term strategic partnership between our nations, and we are committed to achieving this," he added.
EAM Jaishankar remarked on X, "Had an excellent meeting with FM Gideon Sa'ar from Israel in New Delhi today. Our discussions were fruitful in strengthening our Strategic Partnership across various sectors. We reaffirmed our zero tolerance towards terrorism in all its forms. I appreciate FM Sa'ar sharing insights on regional developments, the Gaza Peace Plan, and our collaboration in multilateral platforms. We also witnessed the signing of a MoU on Training between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service and Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
In his initial remarks during the meeting with EAM Jaishankar, Sa'ar labeled radical terrorism as a shared threat for both Israel and India, condemning the terrorist act that transpired in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22.
"Radical terrorism poses a mutual threat to Israel and India. We strongly denounce the dreadful terror attack in Pahalgam. In the Middle East, Israel confronts a distinct reality, which I term as terror states. The radical terror groups of Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Houthis in Yemen have entrenched themselves over decades. Eradicating them is essential for the security and stability of our region. The dismantling of the Hamas terror state is central to President Trump's plan. Hamas must be disarmed. Gaza needs to be demilitarized. We will not compromise on this," he asserted.
