Amaravati, Dec 4 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy sharply criticized the Chandrababu Naidu administration on Thursday, labeling its management of agriculture, education, and healthcare as grossly ineffective. He further accused the government of misusing law enforcement to impose false charges against its political opponents.
During a press conference, Reddy enumerated the government’s failures, shedding light on the struggles faced by farmers, students, and employees.
He claimed that the ruling coalition is targeting political rivals with fabricated cases, asserting that the state operates under a “Red Book constitution”.
This term refers to the Red Book held by TDP leader Nara Lokesh during last year's election campaign, which he suggested contained names of those who would be penalized for their actions during YSRCP governance once the TDP-led NDA regained power.
YS Reddy accused the government of wrongfully implicating political opponents in the Tirupati laddu and Parakamani theft cases.
He also pointed out that nepotism is rampant under the current regime, leaving various community sectors neglected.
The former CM asserted that the public's response to the YSRCP's campaign against the privatization of medical colleges has been overwhelmingly positive, with one crore signatures collected for submission to the Governor on December 16.
Reddy criticized the government for failing to settle dues owed to hospitals, adversely affecting healthcare services for the underprivileged under the Aarogyasri scheme.
He highlighted the glaring negligence in the education sector, noting that 29 students died from consuming contaminated food and water, while many others were hospitalized due to unsanitary conditions. He lamented that students are now forced to bring their own meals due to the subpar quality of food provided in the midday meal scheme. The beneficial reforms initiated by the YSRCP have been undone, leading to accumulating fee reimbursement dues and distress among students.
Reddy expressed concern for farmers, who are suffering as they do not receive Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops and are being deceived at every turn. He noted that during the YSRCP's tenure, farmers received timely benefits, and the RBKs effectively served their needs, making the Save AP slogan resonate true.
He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has been misusing state institutions to dismiss cases against him, exerting pressure on officers who previously filed complaints against him to retract their statements. Reddy claimed that corruption is rampant within the coalition government, which fabricates evidence to charge political adversaries falsely. He noted the case against the Pinnelli brothers (former YSRCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatarami Reddy) was based on a false narrative, despite the Superintendent of Police clarifying that the murder case stemmed from group rivalry among TDP supporters.
Addressing the liquor controversy, YS Jagan emphasized that there was no liquor scam during YSRCP governance, yet his leaders are being arrested on baseless charges.
He reiterated that under the coalition, counterfeit liquor establishments have proliferated, with numerous illicit shops emerging across the state while YSRCP leaders and associates face wrongful accusations. He cited examples, including Jogi Ramesh and Mithun Reddy, among others, as victims of these tactics.
“Chandrababu himself is embroiled in a liquor scam and is currently on bail for serious charges, employing coercive methods that violate his bail conditions,” he stated.
Regarding the Tirupati laddu incident, he asserted that there is a stringent system to ensure the quality of ghee used, countering Chandrababu Naidu's fabricated claims about adulterated ghee being utilized for prasadam and the unfounded allegations against YV Subba Reddy.
On the Parakamani case, he mentioned that the narrative has been exaggerated by the CM and his media team, although it was the YSRCP government that modernized the Parakamani with advanced technology, allowing the theft issue to be revealed through high-resolution surveillance.
He noted that the individual tied to the case had previously donated his assets to the Tirumala temple as penance.
Additionally, he criticized the handling of a recent theft at the Simhachalam temple, where the accused received a station bail, highlighting governance failures. He concluded by mentioning that no actions were taken despite a harassment complaint against a minister's personal assistant by a female employee.
