Patna, Sep 29 (NationPress) BJP MP from Bihar's West Champaran, Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, on Monday vehemently denied the accusations of diesel theft and alterations to the alignment of the Cantonment Overbridge, made by Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor. He warned that if Kishor does not publicly apologize, he would pursue a defamation suit amounting to Rs 132.24 crore.
During a media conference in Bettiah, Jaiswal shared Right to Information (RTI) findings acquired from the Indian Railways and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to refute the claims.
“Both entities have clearly confirmed that the alignment of the Cantonment Overbridge remains unchanged and that there have been no modifications to the design of the National Highway,” he stated.
Responding to the accusation of diesel theft, Jaiswal pointed out that Kishor's claims were based on a letter from Municipal Corporation Mayor Garima Devi Sikaria, who even acknowledged in her response that the petrol pump in question does not belong to Jaiswal.
To investigate the issue, the Urban Development Department initiated an eight-point inquiry in Patna, which scrutinized the petrol pump's records and noted the lack of GST on diesel invoices for 15 vehicles.
In his defense, Jaiswal highlighted that petrol and diesel are exempt from GST across India, questioning the expertise of the investigating officer.
“How can the official raise this point when GST is not applicable to fuel? This suggests the report is part of a conspiracy and warrants an independent investigation,” he asserted.
The MP also disclosed that a criminal case has already been initiated against Prashant Kishor in court.
“If he fails to offer a public apology for his unfounded allegations, I will move forward with a defamation suit of Rs 132.24 crore,” Jaiswal declared.
This controversy arose after Kishor accused Jaiswal of being involved in diesel theft and claimed he manipulated the Cantonment Overbridge project in West Champaran—assertions that the MP has categorically rejected as politically motivated.
