Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion Shines Bright at PITEX 2024 in Amritsar

Srinagar, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) established and sponsored the Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion at the 18th Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX), which occurred in Amritsar from December 5-9.

An official announcement made on Monday indicated that the pavilion, featuring an impressive display of traditional artistry, authentic products, and emerging entrepreneurial talent, became a central attraction of the expo, receiving extensive praise from visitors, business delegations, and the media.

With 30 dedicated stalls, including participation from 12 women entrepreneurs, JKTPO sponsored exhibitors from across Jammu and Kashmir who showcased their distinctive local artistry, turning the pavilion into a major draw for over four lakh visitors from India and abroad.

The Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion presented a remarkable assortment of products, such as Basohli Pashmina Shawls, Kani and Sozni embroidered garments and stoles, the globally renowned Kashmiri saffron, dry fruits and dried vegetables, hand-embroidered Phiran and Kashmiri clothing, honey, and Rajmash from the Jammu region.

The pavilion evolved into a lively hub where visitors not only purchased these outstanding products but also interacted directly with artisans, learning about the stories and dedication behind each piece.

The event yielded significant sales exceeding Rs 1 Cr and generated business leads with the potential for future orders, promising substantial economic growth for artisans and entrepreneurs.

PITEX 2024 featured exhibitors from both Indian states and international representatives, showcasing products from 15 Indian states and various international participants.

The success of the Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion at PITEX 2024 underscores the commitment of JKTPO to enhancing market access for local artisans and entrepreneurs. By promoting B2B and B2C interactions, this initiative continues to bridge cultures, support livelihoods, and stimulate economic growth in the Union Territory.

Building on the achievements of such initiatives, JKTPO has recently organized significant events such as the JK Textile Sourcing Fair 2024 in Srinagar on 28-29 Nov, 2024, the Basmati Fair in Jammu, and participation in IITF 2024 in Delhi, highlighting the economic potential of Jammu and Kashmir.

Looking ahead, JKTPO plans to take part in major events like the India International Mega Trade Fair in Kolkata, Indus Food, MITEX, Surajkund Mela, and Bharat Tex 2025, as well as organizing the 2nd Agro & Food Fest on January 22, 2025, and the JK Trade Show 2025, Winter edition, on January 31, 2025.
