The elections, covering 116 municipalities and seven municipal corporations in Telangana, are set for February 11. These urban local bodies encompass a total of 2,996 wards.
Despite being part of the TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, Jana Sena has no formal alliance with the BJP for these municipal elections.
The Telangana BJP has already stated that it will contest independently.
Recently, it was revealed that Pawan Kalyan would campaign for both Jana Sena and BJP candidates on February 7 and 8.
The party emphasized that their collaboration with the BJP is friendly, aimed at addressing the interests of Telangana and fortifying their grassroots presence.
The Jana Sena leader will be campaigning on behalf of the NDA, as stated in a recent announcement.
Details regarding Pawan Kalyan’s campaign schedule are expected to be released later.
However, uncertainty looms over his visit due to the lack of additional updates from Jana Sena.
A total of 12,944 candidates are contesting in the municipal elections, with the State Election Commission reporting that 14 candidates have been elected unopposed. This includes 12 candidates from the ruling Congress and two from the main opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
