Bengaluru, April 14 (NationPress) The second phase of the Janakrosh Yatra, aimed at criticizing the Congress-led government over price increases and the Muslim quota in tenders, will kick off from Nippani town in Belagavi district, as announced by BJP MLC N. Ravikumar, the Chief Whip of the Opposition in the Legislative Council.

During a press briefing on Monday at the BJP state office ‘Jagannath Bhavan’ in Bengaluru, he noted that April 15 (Tuesday) marks a century since B. R. Ambedkar visited Nippani town.

“A significant celebration is scheduled in this context, and hence the event is being organized in Nippani,” he stated.

He further mentioned that the Janakrosha gathering will occur in Belagavi on April 16, and that the state chief B. Y. Vijayendra, along with Opposition leaders R. Ashoka, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former Chief Minister and BJP MP Jagadish Shettar, and various other notable leaders will participate.

“The event in Hubballi has been postponed to April 28. Programs will take place in Bagalkote and Vijayapura on April 17. Events are lined up in Kalaburagi and Bidar on April 18. The third phase of the Janakrosh Yatra will commence on April 21,” he added.

Vijayendra noted that the Janakrosh Yatra has thus far traversed nine districts and covered approximately 1,115 kilometers.

“All state party leaders were involved in the yatra. Over 5,000 individuals participated in Mysuru, more than 4,000 in Mandya, between 5,000 to 6,000 in Hassan, approximately 3,500 to 4,000 in Kodagu, and despite inclement weather, between 9,000 and 10,000 people showed up in Mangaluru,” he stated.

He noted that in Udupi district, about 5,500 to 6,000 attendees were present, 4,000 to 5,000 in Chikkamagaluru, over 4,000 in Yellapur, and between 6,000 and 7,000 in Shivamogga. Altogether, over 50,000 party workers took part in the initial phase of the Yatra.

Vijayendra added that around 3.5 crore people viewed the yatra on social media, emphasizing that the yatra has heightened public awareness regarding the anti-people policies of the Congress government.

“Consequently, the ruling party is now experiencing panic and confusion,” he asserted.

He also mentioned that the Congress plans to stage a protest against the central government on April 17, which Vijayendra described as “hypocritical drama.”

Vijayendra claimed that the Chief Minister is gradually recognizing the truth and needs to emerge from the illusion fostered by the so-called guarantee schemes.

“The belief that people are satisfied with these schemes is a fallacy, and due to the BJP’s movement, the government is starting to grasp the reality on the ground,” concluded Vijayendra.
