Udupi (Karnataka), April 10 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP's 'Janakrosh Yatra', initiated in response to the Congress-led administration regarding price increases and reservations for Muslims in public work tenders, marked its fourth day on Thursday. The BJP criticized the Congress-led Siddaramaiah government for neglecting the backward classes, which represent over 50 percent of the state's total population.

In a public meeting here, BJP MP Kota Srinivas Poojary stated: "We have no issues if you allocate Rs 10,000 crore or even Rs 1 lakh crore to minorities. But what about the children from backward classes and Scheduled Castes who are in dire need of hostel accommodations? What justice have you (directed at Siddaramaiah) provided for these communities that make up over 50 percent of the population?”

He also sought clarification on whether the Congress was elected to enable slogans like "Let Pakistan win" to be chanted in the Vidhana Soudha. He demanded a response from the "nationalist" members of Congress.

Poojary further asserted: "The downfall of CM Siddaramaiah’s government is inevitable; there should be no doubt about it."

"Just like the blowing of wind and fluttering of curtains are unavoidable, so is the demise of this government. He further highlighted that the populace across Karnataka is demonstrating frustration with the current administration, leading to numerous public protests.

Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra, addressing the crowd, remarked: "The Congress-led government has devolved into a government of promotions. It is not serving the poor but is instead adding to their burden through price hikes.

CM Siddaramaiah assumed office under the pretexts of aiding backward and oppressed classes. However, after gaining power, he has conveniently overlooked these individuals, pursuing policies that are anti-Hindu and favoring a minority community, Vijayendra stated.

"There are no immediate elections for the BJP to conduct the Janakrosh Yatra for political leverage. The primary goal is to contest the Congress-led government and raise awareness among the populace regarding its anti-people policies," he emphasized.

Former minister B. Sriramulu urged BJP leaders and supporters to strive diligently to reinstate the party in future elections.

During a public meeting on Thursday in Udupi as part of the BJP's Janakrosh Yatra, he mentioned that due to escalating prices, the common citizens in the state are now finding it tough to make ends meet.

"On one hand, the government is silent, indifferent, and unresponsive. It behaves like the blind, choosing to ignore the reality. This protest is aimed at awakening the government, as people are grappling with genuine challenges in their everyday lives," he explained.

He vehemently condemned the suspension of BJP MLAs who were forcibly removed from the Assembly by marshals during the Budget session.

He pointed out that Siddaramaiah’s close associate, MLA and CM's Economic Advisor Basavaraj Rayareddy, has himself acknowledged that Karnataka now leads the country in corruption.

"Corruption is surging at a disturbing rate. There is competition among Congress ministers regarding who can be more corrupt. This Congress government is plundering the state's wealth. Ministers are preoccupied with amassing money and securing their positions,” he remarked.

The BJP leader further accused that in the Valmiki Development Corporation and similar organizations, funds are being depleted through corruption, while government-appointed officials are employed to issue clean chits under the guise of investigations.

Poojary commended Udupi district, describing it as a region that has instilled discipline and dedication among the entire state and BJP workers.

Remembering the contributions of the late BJP leader V.S. Acharya, he mentioned that whenever Udupi is discussed, Acharya’s legacy is recalled.

He concluded by encouraging everyone to strive towards restoring the BJP to power in 2028 under B.Y. Vijayendra's leadership.
