Vijayapura, April 17 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP organized a Janakrosh Yatra in Vijayapura city, located in northern Karnataka, protesting against the Congress government due to rising prices and the allocation of Muslim quotas in tenders.
During the public gathering at the Janakrosha Yatra, BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra asserted that since Siddaramaiah assumed the role of Chief Minister, he has utterly neglected the interests of the backward communities across the state.
He accused the Congress and CM Siddaramaiah of forsaking backward communities and only catering to minority groups.
Echoing Siddaramaiah’s recent budget declarations, Vijayendra noted that the Chief Minister pledged a 4 percent reservation for Muslims in government contracts, financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for Muslim women's marriages, and support of Rs 30 lakh for Muslim youth seeking higher education abroad.
He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi abolished triple talaq to uphold the dignity of Muslim women. Initiatives like the Bhagyalakshmi scheme and the Bicycle scheme introduced by B.S. Yediyurappa have benefitted not only Hindus but also Muslims.
He recalled the numerous scams that surfaced during the UPA regime, which led to a loss of hope among the youth regarding the country's future.
"However, Prime Minister Modi has restored that hope and demonstrated that India has a promising future," he elaborated.
Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, stated that it is the BJP that has genuinely honored B.R. Ambedkar.
“We have increased Dalit reservations and regularized civic workers,” he mentioned.
Narayanaswamy reminded that Ambedkar himself labeled the Congress as a "house of destruction" and urged Dalits to recognize this and unite with the BJP.
He concluded by stating that the BJP government is rectifying the "historical mistakes" made by the Congress.
