Support for 'Janakrosh Yatra' Highlights Public Discontent Towards Congress Governance in Karnataka: R. Ashoka
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bengaluru, April 10 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka stated on Thursday that the public backing for the party's Janakrosh Yatra reflects their discontent with the Congress administration in the state.
The Karnataka BJP has initiated the Janakrosh Yatra, criticizing the rising prices and appeasement politics of the Congress-led government.
Criticizing the Siddaramaiah regime, Ashoka, who is the Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, mentioned: “Chief Minister’s Economic Advisor Basavaraj Rayareddy’s claim that Karnataka ranks first in corruption and Minister D. Sudhakar’s comment that the government is taking off after 20 months, showcase the government’s inefficiency.”
“This is a deceitful government delivering poor governance. In 20 months, the true colours of the Siddaramaiah government have been exposed,” Ashoka asserted.
He emphasized that the “unscientific implementation” of guarantee schemes has led the state government to become “bankrupt”.
Ashoka alleged that no genuine development initiatives have been executed.
“On one side, price increases are straining the common man, while on the other, rampant bribery in every office is causing distress among the people,” he stated.
“The entire government is engulfed in leadership change controversies, corruption, and looting. Through exorbitant price increases, they are exploiting the common people like vultures. Anarchy is widespread in the state,” Ashoka claimed.
Interestingly, Rayareddy, during an interaction event in Koppal organized by the Regional Imbalance Redressal Committee, stated, “Karnataka is the leading state in terms of corruption.”
Rayareddy further explained, “Due to rampant corruption, quality work is absent. Government structures that lasted for five to six decades are now collapsing within a decade of their construction. Notably, corruption is significantly higher in the Kalyan Karnataka region.”
Vijayendra remarked that Rayareddy has unveiled the “dark face” of the Siddaramaiah government.
