Jammu, Nov 3 (NationPress) The President of the National Conference (NC) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Farooq Abdullah, has raised serious concerns regarding Lt Governor Manoj Sinha's alleged stalling of files essential for public welfare and development. Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Dr Abdullah stated: "The L-G is delaying crucial files, hindering our government’s initiatives. He should function as a collaborator with both the administration and the citizens. If the administration becomes an obstacle instead of a supporter, how can we expect progress? The L-G must understand that he embodies the hopes and aspirations of the people, not merely the bureaucracy."
"Effective governance and development hinge on seamless cooperation between elected representatives and the administration. Unwarranted delays and bureaucratic stagnation negatively impact public welfare," he emphasized.
Dr Abdullah further remarked, "Governance transcends mere paperwork; it is fundamentally about providing tangible services to the populace." This seasoned leader also called for unity across regions, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir has always been and will remain a unified entity.
"Jammu and Kashmir are indivisible. Both regions will progress in unison, united by shared beliefs, languages, and bonds of brotherhood," he asserted.
He expressed appreciation for the warm welcome he received from the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and the community upon his return, viewing it as a true testament to communal harmony.
Regarding the restoration of J&K's statehood, Dr Abdullah confidently stated, “Inshallah, this will happen soon.”
Moreover, he appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance focus on Jammu and Kashmir and extend assistance to those impacted by recent storms. "I urge the Prime Minister to acknowledge the challenges faced by our people and provide timely support to alleviate their difficulties," he stressed.
With upcoming by-elections in Budgam and Nagrota, Dr Abdullah expressed optimism about the NC's prospects in these constituencies. Reflecting on the NC government’s performance, he noted, "Some promises have been fulfilled, and more will be achieved in the remaining tenure of the elected government."
