Jammu & Kashmir Progressing Towards Equality, Opportunity, and Social Justice Under PM Modi: L-G

Jammu, December 12 (NationPress) - The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, remarked on Thursday that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, J&K is progressing towards equality, opportunity, and social justice.

“The leadership of PM Modi has ushered in changes in recent years that embody inclusive development, eradicating biases and fostering hope and stability among the populace. The disparity between essential services and the aspirations of citizens, whether in rural or urban areas, is clearly diminishing. In recent years, grassroots democracy has been strengthened, and democratic ideals along with constitutional values have become the cornerstone of our collective consciousness,” stated the L-G during a commemorative event for Dogra General Zorawar Singh.

He further emphasized that the visible reduction of gaps between basic necessities and the aspirations of citizens is present in both rural and urban settings.

He also highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering marginalized communities, including those displaced from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Western Pakistan.

“The sacrifices made by great figures like General Zorawar Singh stem from the commitment to cultivate harmony, peace, and prosperity within society. Their vision aligns with our ongoing efforts to eradicate long-standing discriminatory practices and integrate these marginalized communities into the mainstream,” he asserted.

According to him, the legacy of General Zorawar Singh serves as a “beacon of inspiration” for future generations, teaching us how to confront challenges in national service with courage and determination, thereby preserving the essence of our civilization.

“The pace of project completions in Jammu and Kashmir has surged tenfold, reflecting our commitment to ensure public welfare as a sacred duty,” he added.

Sinha expressed his appreciation to the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust for their initiatives in honoring the legacy of the renowned warrior.

“I extend my sincere thanks to the officials of the Trust for their noble endeavor to disseminate the memory and contributions of General Zorawar Singh to various segments of society, showcasing India’s confidence and pride.

“I believe that the lives and actions of remarkable individuals continually inspire others. A society that neglects to honor its great men and ancestors, and does not seek inspiration from them, risks losing its historical identity.

“Their remembrance encourages countless individuals to come together in pursuit of equitable development and to dedicate themselves to aiding underprivileged sections of society,” he remarked.

Sinha referred to General Zorawar Singh as a “symbol of national unity” and an icon of “bravery” and “determination.”

“The life of General Zorawar Singh embodies the vision of a strong India. Under the leadership of Maharaja Gulab Singh, he played a crucial role in the expansion of the Dogra empire and fulfilling the objectives of a united India. His campaigns in Ladakh and Baltistan demonstrated exemplary strategy and unwavering will,” he stated.

He additionally underscored the extensive efforts led by Prime Minister Modi to uphold and rejuvenate the legacy of illustrious personalities like General Zorawar Singh.

“Initiatives over the past decade have focused on transforming the ideals of great figures such as General Zorawar Singh into a source of strength for the nation. Their legacy is being revitalized to invigorate New India. PM Modi has made significant strides in positioning India as a major global power and fostering an environment where every citizen has equal opportunities to contribute creatively without discrimination,” he concluded.
