Srinagar, June 26 (NationPress) The Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (L-G) Manoj Sinha convened a significant meeting with political leaders at Raj Bhawan on Thursday to review the preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, set to commence on July 3.
Attendees included Chief Minister Omar Abdullah; BJP representatives Sat Sharma, Nirmal Singh, and Kavinder Gupta; members from the Indian National Congress such as Tara Chand and Ghulam Ahmad Mir; National Conference's Showkat Ahmad Mir and Jagdish Singh Azad; Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami from CPIM; Sajad Gani Lone of J&K Peoples Conference; Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari of J&K Apni Party; Iltija Mufti from PDP; and Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen Shah of the J&K People’s Democratic Front.
The L-G highlighted the dedicated efforts of the Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, local Administration, J&K Police, security forces, and all involved parties to ensure the safe and successful execution of the holy pilgrimage.
“With the blessings of Baba Amaranth and significant improvements to vital facilities and services, this year's pilgrimage is poised to be an unforgettable and spiritually rewarding experience for devotees. It will also signal a new chapter for Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.
He further appreciated the constructive suggestions from senior political leaders and requested their cooperation to facilitate a smoother and more enjoyable experience for the devotees of Shri Amarnath Ji.
“The leaders of all political parties form part of the J&K family, and I believe that pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Ji is a socio-cultural obligation for this family. We must unite to welcome all devotees and ensure the success of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra,” he emphasized.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and all senior leaders reaffirmed their commitment and promised full support for the holy pilgrimage.
The politicians noted that the Amarnath Ji Yatra is deeply intertwined with the composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir and is essential for the region's economic vitality.
“Ensuring the smooth and successful execution of this sacred pilgrimage is a collective responsibility,” they stated.
The senior leaders also urged the residents of Jammu & Kashmir to extend a warm welcome to the devotees and play a crucial role as key stakeholders in the Yatra.
In light of the recent Pahalgam Terror Attack, the politicians condemned the violence and praised the unity displayed by the people of the Kashmir valley, irrespective of their political beliefs, in sending a strong message that violence has no place in society.
