Patna, Feb 10 (NationPress) JD-U Chief Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has escalated its criticism of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party, raising significant concerns regarding its financial transparency and the origins of its funding.

Kumar, accompanied by JD-U leader Ajit Patel, accused Kishor of conducting a dubious financial operation disguised as political activity.

"Prashant Kishor refers to himself as the patron of Jan Suraaj, yet his name is conspicuously absent from the Election Commission's official records. This casts doubt on who is genuinely in charge of the party," stated Neeraj Kumar.

He further asserted that Jan Suraaj is not receiving direct political contributions; rather, funding appears to be routed through an NGO - 'Joy of Giving Global Foundation'.

Kumar revealed that this NGO secured Rs 48.75 crore in the fiscal year 2023-24, with the largest contribution of Rs 14 crore coming from Ram Setu Infrastructure Private Limited.

"Why are substantial donations for Bihar politics originating from companies located in Telangana and Hyderabad? Many of these firms report minimal capital yet are contributing crores. Frequent shifts in their directors suggest potential money laundering," alleged Neeraj Kumar.

JD-U leaders have likened Kishor’s financial strategy to that of the East India Company, accusing him of introducing corporate lobbying into the political landscape of Bihar.

"He presents himself as a Gandhian, yet vast sums are being expended on his padyatras. Even basic expenses for tents and blankets at Gandhi Maidan remain unsettled. How can this occur without undisclosed financial backers?" Kumar questioned.

JD-U has called on Kishor to publicly disclose his party’s financial documents if he genuinely advocates for political transparency.

"If he is sincerely working for the future of Bihar, he must reveal his party’s funding sources. Otherwise, this seems to be yet another political maneuver fueled by corporate influence," asserted Kumar.
