JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar Taunts Tejashwi Yadav for His Cricketing Setbacks

Patna, Dec 3 (NationPress) JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar taunted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday regarding his consistent shortcomings in his brief involvement in domestic cricket.
The JD(U) member emphasized Tejashwi Yadav's limited achievements in domestic cricket, referencing his statistics - 37 runs and one wicket across seven matches for Jharkhand.
"Tejashwi Yadav has participated in seven matches for Jharkhand, accumulating just 37 runs and taking only one wicket. This is the extent of Tejashwi Yadav's cricketing journey, and he claims credit for the accomplishments of Virat Kohli, an international player who was under his captaincy," Kumar stated.
Prior to entering politics, Tejashwi had a cricketing background. Despite not reaching notable milestones at the professional level, his involvement as a player for the Jharkhand team and as captain of junior teams, including those featuring Virat Kohli, is recorded.
The JD(U) figure also criticized the previous Lalu government, asserting that "Tejashwi Yadav opted to play for Jharkhand in cricket instead of Bihar, as opportunities for sports and employment were limited during Lalu's rule, leading to migration."
He further pointed out Tejashwi's cricket statistics, highlighting his consistent failures, including several zero scores in T20 matches and modest performances in Ranji and one-day matches.
According to Kumar, Tejashwi played a T20 match representing Jharkhand against Tripura in Dhanbad on October 20, 2009, where he scored zero on his first ball.
The second match took place against West Bengal on October 22, 2009, in Dhanbad, where he again scored a duck. In the third T20 match against Assam on October 23, 2009, he once more scored zero in Dhanbad, he noted.
Tejashwi finally opened his account in the fourth match against Odisha in Dhanbad, scoring three runs. He also conceded 36 runs without claiming a single wicket in that T20 match held on October 24, 2009.
In a Ranji Trophy match against Vidarbha on November 10, 2009, he managed just one run in the first innings and 19 runs in the second innings. In a one-day match versus Odisha, Tejashwi scored nine runs on February 14, 2010, in Cuttack. He also played another one-day match against Tripura, where he scored five runs on February 16, 2010, also in Cuttack, he added.
"Tejashwi Yadav should acknowledge the disastrous nature of his cricket career. He was neither proficient in cricket nor academics; how could he succeed in politics?" Kumar questioned.
