Ranchi, May 27 (NationPress) The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has officially announced the results for the Class 10 board examinations on Tuesday. Geetanjali, a student from Indira Gandhi Residential Girls School in Hazaribagh, has emerged as the top performer in the state, achieving an outstanding score of 98.60 percent.
Geetanjali, who originates from Garhwa district, is the daughter of Umesh Pal, an assistant teacher at a local government school.
The announcement of the results was made by Ramdas Soren, the Minister of State School Education and Literacy Department, during a press briefing held at the JAC Auditorium in Namkum, Ranchi, on Tuesday.
This year saw female students excel beyond their male counterparts, with four girls securing spots in the top five ranks. The JAC's list of state toppers features 12 girls and only 2 boys in the first five ranks.
Students achieving the second rank, with scores of 98.2 percent, include Ritu Kumari, Amrit Gupta, Pooja Kumari, and Amar Kumar. The third rank was claimed by Shivani Kumari and Vikas Pramanik with 97.8 percent.
Additionally, Shreya Kumari and Sakshi Kumari secured the fourth rank with a score of 97.6 percent. The fifth position was achieved by Shubham Kumar Patra, Tahreen Fatma, Bhumika Mishra, Varsha Kumari, Tanishq Kumari, and Komal Kumari, all scoring 97.4 percent.
Out of 433,944 registered candidates, 431,488 participated in the exams, resulting in a pass rate of 91.71 percent. This marks an improvement from last year’s pass rate of 90.39 percent.
A total of 202,140 students achieved first division, while 157,294 students secured second division. Only 17,521 students passed with third division.
Koderma district had the highest pass percentage at 97.83 percent, followed by Pakur at 96.83 percent, Jamtara at 96 percent, and Latehar at 96.25 percent.
The Class 10 board examinations were conducted from February 11 to March 9 across 1,297 centers throughout the state.
Results can be accessed on the official websites -- jac.jharkhand.gov.in and jacresults.com. Students can download their marksheets by entering their roll code and roll number. The council has indicated that the online marksheet will be deemed valid until the formal school-issued document is distributed.
