Bhubaneswar, May 2 (NationPress) The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha unveiled the results for the matriculation, or High School Certificate (HSC), examination conducted in the state on Friday.
During a press conference in Cuttack, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond declared that an impressive 94.93 percent of students who sat for the Class 10 board exams this year successfully passed.
He revealed that a total of 5,02,417 regular students participated in this year's examination, and out of these, 4,84,863 students—comprising 2,40,251 boys and 2,44,612 girls—achieved a passing rate of 94.93 percent.
Notably, the minister highlighted that girls excelled once again, achieving a pass percentage of 96 percent, while boys achieved a pass rate of 94 percent.
District-wise analysis showed that Gajapati district had the highest qualifying percentage, whereas Koraput district recorded the lowest this year.
The board's information indicates that 99.35 percent of students in Gajapati passed the Class 10 examination, while the passing rate in Koraput stood at 92.83 percent.
Additionally, Minister Gond mentioned that 3,273 schools in the state achieved a remarkable 100 percent results this year.
He also noted that 1,812 students secured an A1 grade by scoring 90 percent and above. It's important to mention that 5,10,779 students registered for this year's Class 10 board examination.
Despite this, 5,02,417 students actually appeared for the exams. The minister stated that an inquiry will be conducted to understand why some registered students failed to appear for the examinations.
