Ranchi, Feb 20 (NationPress) The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has confirmed that the science board exam paper for Class 10 was compromised prior to the scheduled examination on Thursday morning.

In a statement, JAC President Natwa Hansda declared that the examination will be annulled across the entire state.

In response to the leak, state Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari called for a high-level meeting on Thursday afternoon. The government has mandated a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

Sources indicate that the science question paper was widely circulated on Wednesday and was being sold. Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato approached JAC officials on the same day with a copy of the leaked material.

When the exam commenced at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, the questions were identical to those in the leaked document. This situation was promptly brought to the attention of the state government, leading to immediate administrative measures to cancel the exam.

Hansda confirmed that a high-level committee will be established to investigate the leak.

This incident marks yet another occurrence of paper leaks in Jharkhand prior to exams. Previously, there had been persistent rumors regarding the potential leak of the Hindi exam paper.

Mahato had also presented a memorandum on this issue to the JAC Secretary.

At that time, the council dismissed these allegations, issuing a general notice urging students to disregard rumors. The notice reinforced JAC’s dedication to conducting fair and confidential examinations and cautioned against anti-social elements attempting to exploit students and parents financially.

The Class 10 board exams in Jharkhand began on February 11, with 1,297 examination centers established statewide for 433,890 students.

Initially, the examination was set to conclude on March 3, but following the revised schedule, exams will now extend until March 4. However, due to the cancellation of the Science exam paper, this schedule will be further adjusted.
