Bokaro, May 15 (NationPress) In a devastating incident that occurred late Wednesday night, a man was tragically shot dead by unknown assailants as he was returning home with his father in a vehicle in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district, according to police officials on Thursday.
The incident unfolded near the Baridih forest, falling under the jurisdiction of the Nawadih police station.
The victim has been identified as Hemlal Pandit, a local from Sirai village in the Vishnugarh block of Hazaribagh district.

As per police reports, the father-son duo was heading back after performing a ritual at a residence in Nawadih when the attack occurred.
Around midnight, three men on a motorcycle overtook their car and halted them near the forested area. They requested directions to Vanshi village. When Hemlal lowered the window to assist, one of the assailants shot him at point-blank range, resulting in his immediate death.
Tulsi Pandit promptly informed family members about the grave incident.
Local MLA from Dumri, Jairam Mahato, who was nearby attending a wedding, rushed to the scene upon hearing the news.
He expressed frustration at the slow response from senior police officials.
Ultimately, the Nawadih police station in-charge arrived at the scene nearly an hour and a half later with a team.
