New Delhi, Sep 30 (NationPress) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended the tri-services' collaborative efforts during Operation Sindoor, which facilitated prompt decisions and improved situational awareness, while reaffirming the government's commitment to advancing joint operations.
While speaking at a seminar hosted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Subroto Park in Delhi, Singh noted, "Our administration aims to further enhance jointness and integration across the tri-services. This is not merely a policy issue but a vital aspect of survival in today’s rapidly evolving security landscape."
He emphasized, "The changing nature of warfare, along with the intricate dynamics of both traditional and non-traditional threats, renders jointness an essential operational requisite rather than an optional strategy."
"Jointness has emerged as a critical factor for our national security and operational efficiency. While each branch of the armed forces can operate independently, the interconnected domains of land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace underscore the importance of collaborative strength in achieving victory," he added.
The seminar, themed 'Fostering Greater Jointness - Synergy through Shared Learning in the realm of Inspection and Audits, Aviation Standards and Aerospace Safety', highlights the need for India's military to adopt deeper integration to address modern warfare challenges and enhance defense readiness.
The Defence Minister acknowledged the significance of the IAF's Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS), which operates in coordination with the Indian Army's Akashteer and the Indian Navy's Trigun, forming a cohesive operational framework during Operation Sindoor.
"During Operation Sindoor, the synergy of the tri-services created a cohesive, real-time operational overview. This empowered commanders to make swift decisions, improved situational awareness, and minimized the chances of fratricide. This exemplifies how jointness can yield significant results, setting a standard for future operations," he declared.
The Union Minister recalled the recent Combined Commanders' Conference held in Kolkata, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significance of joint operations and integration.
He affirmed that this reflects the government’s strong commitment to ensuring that the Armed Forces are not only among the world’s best in values and traditions but also leaders in future-ready systems.
