New Delhi, March 27 (NationPress) Union Minister Pralhad Joshi described the Opposition's actions in Parliament as “extremely unfortunate,” accusing the Congress and other parties of irresponsible behavior during a time when the global economy faces significant challenges, particularly with escalating crude oil prices.

“The current conduct of the Opposition in Parliament is indeed unfortunate. The Congress and several other key parties are behaving irresponsibly,” Joshi stated, asserting that instead of recognizing the government's efforts, they are criticizing its decisions and propagating falsehoods.

Speaking to the press, Joshi highlighted that while global energy markets are experiencing pressure, the government has implemented timely measures to maintain stability in both supply and pricing. He pointed out that crude oil prices have increased internationally, affecting economies around the world, but India has managed the situation proficiently.

He also emphasized that the government has recently lowered excise duty on petrol and diesel to alleviate the financial burden on citizens and oil marketing firms. “Oil companies have been doing their utmost during this period, and now, with the reduction in excise duty, the burden on both businesses and the public is lessened,” he noted.

Addressing concerns raised earlier during the global crisis, Joshi indicated that fears of fuel shortages have proven to be unfounded. “At the onset of the crisis, Rahul Gandhi claimed there would be a fuel scarcity within two to three days. Today marks the 27th day, and fuel is widely available,” he asserted.

He further remarked that the spread of rumors had incited panic buying among consumers, resulting in a temporary increase in demand. Despite this, he assured that there has been no disruption in supply. “Although rumors led to heightened demand due to panic buying, petrol and diesel are still readily accessible across the nation,” he stated.

Regarding Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), the minister acknowledged some limitations in global supply but asserted that the government has initiated steps to optimize distribution and boost commercial production. He also dismissed claims of shortages in Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), labeling such allegations as unfounded.

“There is no shortage of LNG or PNG, and yet rumors about a potential lockdown are being circulated. All these claims are baseless,” Joshi reiterated.

He further asserted that India’s economy is on a robust growth trajectory despite global uncertainties, attributing this success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The nation’s economy is thriving, and India is progressing under the Prime Minister's guidance. Some individuals cannot bear this advancement,” he remarked, accusing certain factions of the Opposition of wishing for the government’s downfall.

Joshi concluded by stating that the government, under Modi's leadership, is adeptly managing the situation with experience and stability. “Those who hope for systemic failure and damage to the Prime Minister's reputation will be disappointed—this will never occur,” he declared.

He reiterated that despite global crises, India continues to advance steadily, ensuring sufficient energy availability and policy measures that protect both consumers and industries.
