Jaipur, April 24 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and former CM Ashok Gehlot, alongside numerous others, offered floral tributes to Neeraj Udhwani, a 33-year-old resident of Jaipur, who tragically lost his life in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
The attackers shot Neeraj in front of his wife, Ayushi, during the horrifying incident. Neeraj’s body was transported back to Jaipur via an Indigo flight, landing at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday. His last rites are scheduled for Thursday at the Jhalana crematorium, with full arrangements made by the district administration.
A substantial police presence of over 150 personnel has been deployed outside Neeraj's residence in Forest View Residency, Model Town (Malviya Nagar), to manage the anticipated influx of mourners and dignitaries.
CM Sharma and other leaders conveyed their condolences to the grieving family.
Numerous other figures, including Deputy CM Diya Kumari, Premchand Bairwa, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Kumawat, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie, and PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara, have already visited the family residence to express their sympathies.
As per family sources, Neeraj and Ayushi had traveled to Kashmir following a wedding in Shimla.
Neeraj, who worked as a chartered accountant in Dubai, had taken a brief vacation with his wife. The couple married in February 2023 at Bhanwar Singh Palace, Pushkar.
Following the attack, Ayushi reached out to Neeraj’s elder brother, Kishore Udhwani, to inform him of the tragic event. Kishore and his wife Shubhi, both Income Tax Inspectors, promptly set off for Kashmir. Neeraj’s uncle, Dinesh Udhwani, confirmed that Neeraj had been working in Dubai and had returned to Jaipur for a visit during Makar Sankranti three months ago.
On Wednesday evening, several leaders, including Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and representatives from both BJP and Congress, gathered at Jaipur airport to pay their respects.
This senseless act of violence has not only shattered the Udhwani family but has also led to an overwhelming wave of grief throughout Jaipur and beyond.
Neeraj's mother, Jyoti, expressed her anguish, stating, "If the government seeks justice for my child, then they must eliminate these terrorists publicly. No mother should have to endure this loss. My son was harmless, yet he was killed so brutally. God will never forgive them. My pain won't cease until these terrorists are brought to justice."
