Jyotiraditya Scindia Commends MP Student for Creating Human-Carrying Drone

Gwalior, Dec 20 (NationPress) On Thursday, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had the opportunity to meet Medhansh Trivedi, a student who has recently attracted national attention for designing a human-carrying drone, motivated by the drone technology from the neighboring country China.

Medhansh, a 12th-grade student at the Scindia School in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior, has engineered a single-seater drone capable of transporting an individual weighing up to 80 kg and maintaining flight for approximately six minutes.

During their meeting at his residence in Safdarjung, New Delhi, Union Minister Scindia congratulated Medhansh for his remarkable innovation.

The Minister further encouraged Medhansh, suggesting that he view this innovation as a launchpad for his future ambitions.

Additionally, Union Minister Scindia advised Medhansh to prepare himself for studies in prestigious institutions globally and assured him of all necessary support.

"I met Medhansh Trivedi and congratulated him for his innovation. I have assured him of all possible help to ensure his bright future," he stated.

Medhansh reported that he constructed a heavy-duty drone capable of carrying a human weighing up to 80 kg, inspired by the drone technologies observed in China.

He named the drone MLDT 01, which cost him Rs 3.5 lakh to develop.

The development process for the drone took Medhansh three months.

"I was motivated to create this drone after witnessing the drones in China. My teacher Manoj Mishra provided significant technical assistance and encouragement throughout the development phase," Medhansh mentioned in a statement from his school.

He detailed that the drone measures 1.8 metres in length and width and is currently tested at a maximum height of 10 metres for safety reasons.

During the Foundation Day celebrations at the Scindia School, both Union Minister Scindia and ISRO Chief S. Somanath praised Medhansh for his achievement in creating the human-carrying drone.
