Scindia inspects Gwalior Western Bypass, ₹1,347 crore project to cut travel time
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday, 28 April inspected the Western Bypass project in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, describing the ₹1,347 crore infrastructure initiative as a milestone in balancing the city's east-to-west development. Reviewing progress alongside officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Scindia stressed timely completion with high quality standards.
Key Details of the Western Bypass
The 29-km-long Western Bypass, approved in 2025, is designed to connect the 88-km Gwalior–Agra Expressway and will subsequently link to the Shivpuri Expressway, strengthening regional transport corridors. The bypass will feature three entry-exit points and 13 underpasses, with environmental considerations factored into its design.
Scindia highlighted the project's impact on travel efficiency.
