Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi/Gwalior, March 7 (NationPress) Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has formally reached out to Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, advocating for the inclusion of key towns in his Guna parliamentary constituency in Madhya Pradesh to the planned 'Madhya Bharat Vikas Path'.
The 'Madhya Bharat Vikas Path', also known as the 'Nagpur–Bhopal–Gwalior Green Corridor', is an ambitious proposed 746-km expressway project in Madhya Pradesh aimed at linking Betul to Morena, traversing significant locations like Bhopal and Gwalior, to boost regional commerce, tourism, and logistics.
In his correspondence, Scindia emphasized that vital towns in the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, including Ashoknagar, Mungaoli, and Chanderi, currently lack direct access to national highways. He highlighted that connecting these towns to the expressway would significantly enhance transportation options and stimulate fresh investments, industrial growth, and job opportunities in the area.
He pointed out that better road connectivity would invigorate economic activities in the Gwalior–Chambal division and its vicinity, allowing the region to embark on a fruitful development trajectory.
The proposed Madhya Bharat Vikas Path is in the initial survey stage, which is anticipated to conclude in the next four to five months. The survey is also exploring the feasibility of linking Chanderi, Ashoknagar, and Mungaoli to this expressway.
Scindia remarked that the ‘Madhya Bharat Vikas Path’ is a pivotal element of the new expressway framework envisioned in the state under the Government of India's ‘Vision 2047’ initiative.
This nearly 746-km corridor will initiate in Morena, traverse the Gwalior–Chambal region, and extend to Nagpur. It aims to facilitate travel between prominent cities and enhance connectivity to notable tourist spots like Chanderi and Orchha. Furthermore, it is expected to fortify the connection between Nagpur and Hyderabad.
Scindia expressed optimism that the realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a ‘Developed India’ will be supported by the new expressways planned in Madhya Pradesh, such as the Narmada Pragati Path, Vindhya Expressway, and Malwa–Nimar Vikas Path, which will serve as a catalyst for the state's economic and social advancement.
He conveyed strong confidence that the execution of these infrastructure projects would accelerate development in Madhya Pradesh, improving connectivity and generating investment and job prospects for the local populace.
