New Delhi, May 15 (NationPress) BJP parliamentarian Kangana Ranaut announced on Thursday that she has removed a post from X as well as an Instagram update, following a directive from party president J.P. Nadda. This was regarding her earlier comments about US President Donald Trump.
The BJP representative for the Mandi LS seat seemed to have made an inappropriate remark about Donald Trump, prompting her to retract after facing criticism on social media and raising concerns within the party about the potential ramifications of her remarks comparing Trump and Modi.
The party is already striving to manage the fallout from the controversial statements made by senior party figure and MP minister Vijay Shah regarding Colonel Sophiya Qureshi.
Kangana took to X to confess to deleting the tweet about Donald Trump as per the request of the party president, describing it as her personal view. She expressed, “JP Nadda ji called and asked me to delete the tweet I had posted regarding Trump advising Apple CEO Tim Cook not to produce in India. I regret posting that very personal opinion of mine, and as instructed, I immediately deleted it from Instagram as well,” she stated in her post on X.
Kangana appeared to be upset over Donald Trump's suggestion to Tim Cook to avoid ‘contributing’ to the ‘Make In India’ campaign and instead concentrate on the United States.
Although Kangana’s post has been erased, a few viral screenshots indicate that she drew a comparison between Donald Trump and PM Modi, portraying the US President as ‘lesser’ than his Indian counterpart.
“What might be the cause for this loss of affection? Is it personal envy or diplomatic insecurity?” she reportedly questioned, as per various X accounts.
It’s noteworthy that the US President recently, at a business gathering in Doha, urged Tim Cook to prioritize ‘building’ America instead of India due to its unexpectedly high tariffs.
Trump's recommendation to Apple against manufacturing in India arrives at a pivotal moment, as the iPhone manufacturer considers expanding its Indian production, transitioning from Beijing to navigate the tariff conflict between the US and China.
