Patna, April 10 (NationPress) Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Thursday criticized the BJP leadership, specifically Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing the party of engaging in hypocrisy regarding dynastic politics and shifting focus from critical issues such as unemployment and inflation.

During a press interaction in Patna, Kumar challenged the appointment of Jay Shah, Amit Shah's son, as the Chairman of the BCCI. “What qualifications does Jay Shah hold? Is he a cricketer or a UPSC graduate? BJP condemns dynastic politics yet embodies it the most,” he stated.

Kumar asserted that the BJP is leveraging the Waqf law debate as a diversionary tactic.

“For the past 15 days, they’ve been fostering a narrative claiming they’ll allocate Waqf land to impoverished Muslims. Yet, these are the same individuals who prevent Muslims from praying on their rooftops. How can they provide land?”

He accused the BJP of attempting to polarize voters while ignoring pressing matters such as inflation, migration, and unemployment.

“They assert that the economy has reached five trillion dollars, but simultaneously they take pride in distributing 5 kg of food grains to 80 crore people. Where is this five trillion then? Is it with those receiving free rations?” he questioned.

Kumar challenged BJP leaders to offer tangible data on economic growth and accomplishments beyond mere headlines.

He further inquired about the effects of Article 370's abrogation, demanding statistics on land purchases in Jammu and Kashmir since the amendment.

“Can they identify how many individuals have actually acquired land in the Kashmir valley after the removal of Article 370?” he asked.

He concluded by stating that the BJP has persistently utilized divisive strategies like CAA, NRC, and now the Waqf Board debate to distract the public from urgent livelihood challenges.

Kanhaiya Kumar is currently conducting the ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ Padayatra in Bihar, and on Thursday, he traversed the streets of Patna.

He also visited Takht Hari Mandir Sahib Gurudwara to offer prayers.
