Patna, Oct 29 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack against what he termed dynastic politics during a significant election rally in Darbhanga, targeting Sonia Gandhi, the Congress president, and Lalu Prasad Yadav, the RJD chief.
Shah accused them of attempting to position their children in prominent political roles. He stated, “Sonia Gandhi aims to elevate her son Rahul Gandhi to the Prime Minister's office, while Lalu Prasad Yadav wishes to make his son the Chief Minister of Bihar.”
“I want to make it clear that there are no vacancies for these positions. Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister, and Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister, and they will retain their positions,” he added.
Shifting his focus to the contrast between nepotism and youth empowerment, Shah emphasized the BJP's initiative to include young first-time candidates.
He announced that the party plans to nominate one lakh young individuals for various positions, citing 25-year-old folk singer Maithili Thakur as an example, who is contesting from Alinagar despite lacking a political background.
“PM Modi has committed to offering tickets to one lakh young people for their inaugural electoral run, for roles ranging from village council members to MLAs and MPs. An RJD leader questioned our choice of first-time candidates. I will remind them that we endorsed Maithili Thakur, who has no prior politics experience. While Lalu Prasad aims to position his son as Chief Minister and Sonia Gandhi desires her son as Prime Minister, the BJP stands out as the sole party that promotes the youth of our nation into politics,” he stated.
On matters of national security and law enforcement, Shah commended the Modi administration for its decisive measures against the Popular Front of India.
“The PFI was established here, yet the previous Congress government failed to ban it. PM Modi prohibited the PFI overnight, executing raids at over 100 locations and imprisoning the entire PFI network. I assure you that as long as even a single BJP MP remains, we will not allow any PFI member to be released from prison,” he asserted.
Shah credited the Modi administration for pivotal actions regarding Kashmir, including the abrogation of Article 370, and remarked that the government has adopted a firmer approach towards terrorism.
“The Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav defended Article 370 for 70 years. PM Modi has abolished it permanently. There was a time when terrorists wreaked havoc on Indian soil without repercussions. Now, under PM Modi's leadership, we confront terrorism head-on and eliminate threats,” Shah said.
Regarding welfare initiatives and state-level accomplishments, Shah highlighted numerous central and state programs, including free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for underprivileged families, housing schemes, the PM-Kisan annual direct payments of Rs 6,000, the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana food grain distribution, one-time payments of Rs 10,000 to over a crore Jeevika Didis, and 125 units of free electricity per household.
He acknowledged increases in widow pensions and other state initiatives he attributed to the Nitish Kumar administration.
Recalling the 2020 Assembly results in Darbhanga, where the NDA secured nine out of ten seats, Shah urged voters to ensure all ten seats go to the NDA this election, asking local supporters to deliver every Darbhanga seat to Narendra Modi.
He also pledged to establish a grand museum in Darbhanga to house Bihar's manuscripts.
