Amit Shah Critiques Congress on Constitution Issues, Quota Promises, and More

New Delhi, Dec 17 (NationPress) Home Minister Amit Shah unleashed a scathing critique of the Congress party regarding its supposed ‘misadventures’ and blatant efforts to modify the Constitution while also addressing its policies aimed at minority appeasement.

Wrapping up the Constitution debate in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Amit Shah did not hold back in his criticism of the 54-year-old ‘young’ Congress leader and the party's 'deceptive tactics' to mislead voters during elections, effectively ridiculing the Constitution.

He stated that the ‘young leader’, who often showcases a copy of the Constitution and claims to defend it, was seen carrying a blank copy of this revered document at a public event.

“The blank copy of the Constitution represents the greatest deception ever,” the Home Minister asserted, labeling the allegations of ‘Constitution in peril’ as mere political theatrics.

Amit Shah further criticized Congress on several other fronts, including their breach of the 50 percent reservation promise, Article 370, and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

He remarked that the Congress has consistently engaged in appeasement politics, treating the Muslim community solely as a vote bank, while the BJP government has abolished Triple Talaq and promoted equality for Muslim mothers and sisters.

Congress initiated the Muslim personal law board and now claims it will raise the quota limit beyond 50 percent. This move, according to Shah, masks a hidden agenda to strip away rights from the backward classes while granting reservations to Muslim minorities.

“The BJP will never permit religion-based reservations in the nation. Even if the BJP has only one member left in the House, it will oppose reservations based on religion,” Shah declared, while addressing the Rajya Sabha.

He vehemently criticized the Opposition regarding Article 370, recalling that detractors predicted chaos and violence if it were revoked, yet today, the Valley is witnessing extraordinary growth and an increase in business activities.

“Forget about stone-pelting; not even pebbles are being thrown following the abrogation of Article 370,” Amit Shah stated, prompting cheers and applause from his party's members.

The Home Minister also condemned the Congress-led INDIA bloc for opposing the Uniform Civil Code, asserting that the BJP government does not act unilaterally and formulates policy decisions with broader consensus.

He noted that the Uttarakhand government has implemented the UCC, although other BJP-led states have yet to adopt it, as they are still gathering feedback and evaluating the law.
