Mumbai, April 12 (NationPress) Months after the alarming knife assault on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan, his spouse Kareena Kapoor Khan's detailed account to law enforcement has unveiled the distressing specifics of the event that left the actor wounded and their residence in turmoil.

The insights emerged from a 1,600-page indictment submitted by the authorities, which tracks the movements of the suspect, Mohammad Shariful Islam, through 25 CCTV cameras and includes vital eyewitness testimonies.

Kareena, in her extensive declaration, recounted the frightening evening in January when an armed intruder invaded their Bandra West home, Satguru Sharan Building, where she resides with Saif, their sons Taimur and Jehangir, and domestic staff, including nannies and caretakers.

The family’s residence encompasses three stories -- the 11th floor with bedrooms, the 12th-floor living area, and servant quarters and library on the 13th.

"At approximately 7:30 pm, I departed to meet my friend Rhea Kapoor and returned home around 1:20 am. I checked on my children and discovered them asleep. Around 2 am, our caretaker Junu entered my bedroom and informed me that someone was in Jeh's room with a knife, demanding money," Kareena relayed to the police.

Hastening to the scene with Saif, she described confronting a man clad in black attire and a hat, roughly 5'5" tall and appearing to be in his 30s or 40s.

Inside the room, Kareena noticed nurse Eliyamma Philip injured and bleeding. As Saif attempted to subdue the intruder, he suffered stab wounds to his neck, back, and hand.

"The assailant wielded a knife and a hex blade. Saif intervened, but was attacked. Geeta also tried to assist and was injured. I instructed Eliyamma to evacuate Jeh. We fled to the 12th floor with Jeh, followed by Saif, who was losing considerable blood," Kareena recounted in her statement.

Kareena promptly called household staff members Hari, Ramu, Ramesh, and Paswan to aid in searching for the attacker, but he had escaped. Recognizing the home was no longer safe, she commanded everyone to evacuate and transport Saif to the hospital.

"I urged them all, 'Forget everything, let's go downstairs, we must go to the hospital.' Saif required immediate medical attention," Kareena reflected.

She permitted Taimur to accompany Saif and Hari to Lilavati Hospital.

Kareena subsequently contacted her sister Karisma Kapoor, her manager Poonam Damania, and Poonam's husband Tejas Damania for assistance. Police arrived soon after but were unable to locate the intruder despite a thorough search of the premises.

The statement further mentions that Tejas Damania notified the police about the incident and later visited Saif at the hospital. Kareena herself made her way to the hospital, ensuring that nurse Eliyamma Philip also received the necessary care.

Kareena disclosed that the assailant had demanded Rs 1 crore during the confrontation, telling the nurses, "I have come to steal. I want one crore rupees."

It was only later that Kareena discovered from the police that the suspect had been apprehended and identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam, a national from Bangladesh.
