Hubballi, April 3 (NationPress) The right-wing group Sri Ram Sena is set to offer 'Trishul Deeksha' to 1,000 Hindu women, equipping them with self-defence skills on the anniversary of the tragic death of college student Neha Hiremath, who lost her life at the hands of a spurned lover on her college grounds.
Neha was fatally stabbed by Fayaz Kondikoppa on her college campus in Hubballi.
Niranjan Hiremath, Neha's father and a Congress corporator, voiced his concerns, stating that his daughter has not received justice and has urged that the investigation be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He claimed that this incident was a case of 'love jihad'.
In an interview with IANS on Thursday, Pramod Muthalik, the founder and national president of Sri Ram Sena, remarked, "It has been nearly a year since the brutal slaying of college student Neha Hiremath. On April 18, 2024, the day of the incident, we will host 'Trishul Deeksha' for 1,000 Hindu women. This initiative is focused on their safety."
"To protect themselves from rapists and those intending to harm or exploit them, women must cultivate courage. They should be ready to teach such offenders a lesson. Trishul Deeksha will foster bravery, valor, and the spirit to overcome life's challenges. The event will take place for 1,000 women in Hubballi city," he declared.
Muthalik also mentioned a recent incident in Hubballi involving an individual named Siraj, who harassed a Hindu girl and pressured her into marriage. After her rejection, he invaded her hostel and assaulted her while celebrating the Ramzan festival.
"The girl, traumatized by the incident, attempted to harm herself by ingesting pills. She has been hospitalized at KIMS Hospital and is now recovering. Siraj must face strict consequences. Reports of 'love jihad' are emerging daily, and the local police and the Congress government are to blame," he criticized.
On the recent Waqf controversy, he commented, "The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was approved in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. This is a significant milestone. For the past 50 years, the Waqf Board has been misappropriating government land and properties belonging to temples, mutts, and other religious organizations."
"This bill is historic. Those who oppose it are acting against the nation. The amendment will aid impoverished Muslims, who have long been exploited by mullahs, moulvis, and Congress leaders," he alleged.
