K. Manjula of BJP's Mahila Morcha Highlights Safety Concerns for Women in Karnataka

Belagavi (Karnataka), Dec 16 (NationPress) The President of the BJP’s Karnataka Mahila Morcha, K. Manjula, asserted on Monday that women in the state, especially in the northern areas, are experiencing a lack of safety under the existing government.

Her remarks came during a protest in Belagavi, aimed at denouncing the alarming rise in maternal fatalities within the state.

“The tragic murder of Neha Hiremath on a college campus in Hubballi, motivated by a love affair, exemplifies the situation. My party members, while I was touring northern Karnataka, informed me that following our defeat in this region, the presence of anti-social elements and intimidation has escalated,” stated Manjula.

“Moreover, in the recent blast at the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe, a woman lost her eyesight while having lunch. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar attempted to downplay the incident by suggesting it stemmed from business rivalries,” she added.

“However, subsequent investigations uncovered that the attackers had connections to Pakistan and had intentions of bombing the state BJP office. The Congress party has continuously defended such incidents,” Manjula contended.

“The Siddaramaiah administration has rescinded all charges against those involved in the Hubballi riots. In addition, 175 individuals accused of murder and 1,500 others implicated in various crimes have been released by this government. In doing so, the state government has jeopardized the safety and security of women and has capitulated to anti-social elements,” Manjula alleged.

“We must vocally oppose this government. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should bear in mind that his party could only secure nine seats in the Lok Sabha elections, and they should not be misled by their success in three Assembly bypolls,” she emphasized.

“The citizens of Karnataka and the nation stand with the commendable efforts of the BJP. Even with 139 MLAs, it is unlikely they will win more than 36 seats in the forthcoming elections,” remarked Manjula.

BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra asserted that the government has been organizing events disguised as the Winter Session of the Assembly.

“Last year, prior to the Winter Session, a woman from the Scheduled Tribe was subjected to humiliation and violence after being tied to a pole. Neither the Ministers nor the Chief Minister made any effort to visit her. I personally went to see her in the hospital,” added B.Y. Vijayendra.

“The murder of Neha Hiremath in Hubballi underscores the absence of safety for women and mothers in Karnataka. It is disheartening that mothers have a Chief Minister like Siddaramaiah,” he criticized.

“Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa launched the Bhagya Laxmi scheme to address female feticide in the state, saving countless lives. However, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has halted this initiative. Under the current government, mothers face disrespect and disregard,” Vijayendra concluded.
